Drs. Rutherford and Roaten discussed possible replacements on the Task Force for Robert Frey, who is leaving the Institution, and Karen Houpt who has been unable to attend meetings due to her schedule.  It was agreed that Dr. Rutherford would invite Dr. Amit Pandya from Dermatology and Dr. Gregory Schneider of Family Medicine.

The Task Force discussed the need for each department to look at their practice based on productivity to better understand their capacity.  It was thought that Family Medicine and GIM may wish to set their own benchmarks rather than follow MGMA standards since the MGMA standards are based primarily on figures derived from private sector practices rather than academic medical center practice data.

It was agreed that the pilot scorecard, once available, will provide useful data regarding productivity.

The following steps were identified as tools to building a successful practice:

1. Determine accessibility
2. Determine current size of practice
3. Analyze current productivity (by reviewing RVU’s and volume)
4. Determine current capacity
5. Determine future needs
6. Develop an incentive plan to help practice meet its goals

Drs. Reed and Roaten planned to pull the data for each practice that will help them review their practices.
