I. Stacey Rychtyk walked the Task Force through the first draft of a clinical employees’ incentive plan that she and Terri Bohuslav prepared.  The Task Force discussed various measurements including individual elements and overall clinic performance as possible factors.  Members agreed it is important to detail what measures will be incentivized.  A first step may be to recognize outstanding clinic (group) performance and then “drill” down to individual performance.

Stacey, Terri, and Mary Teasley will work on this further.  They have been asked to outline specific job descriptions and responsibilities for the various clinical positions and draft a method of measuring performance (a scorecard) for each.

II. Dr. Leach reviewed with the Task Force the presentation he will be giving to the External Advisory Committee on September 11, 2003.  The presentation outlines current primary care clinical statistics and details the General Internal Medicine clinical practice.

Julie Landesberg will provide Dr. Leach the final version of the Pilot Scorecard and Cindy Lochte will furnish him with current NCQA standards regarding appointment availability.

III. Upcoming Projects:

Dr. Rutherford suggested that the pilot scorecard be run for the Family Medicine and General Internal Medicine practices.  These will be reviewed by the Primary Care Task Force until there is a consensus that the figures look accurate and reflect the current practices.  At that time, they will be shared with the individual physicians of each practice.

Stacey Rychtyk, Terri Bohuslav and Mary Teasley will continue working on their recommendations for a clinical employee incentive program.

The next meeting of the Primary Care Task Force is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24th from 7:00 – 8:30 a.m. in the B11 conference room.
