The Rheumatic Diseases Division at UT Southwestern has been a leader in research to understand the causes of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The goal of these studies is to not only understand why these conditions occur, but to help design and test new therapies to improve the lives of our patients.
Patients and their families are encouraged to learn about and participate in clinical research projects, including trials of experimental therapies for autoimmune diseases. For more information about ongoing clinical research please contact Valerie Branch, MS, MBA at (214) 648-2018 or Azza Mutwally, MBB at (214) 648-7219.
