Active research occurs in the following  labs:
  • Transcriptional regulation of surfactant proteins (Weissler,Yang,Yang) 
  • Compensatory lung growth (Johnson, Hsia)
  • Signalling through TRAF-4, endothelial function in HIV (Terada) 
  • Immune defense against Aspergillus (Mehrad)
  • Exercise adaptation to altitude (Babb)

         
As of October 1, 2003 there are 9 NIH grants , one VA Merit Award and one endowed Center (James M. Collins Center for Biomedical Research) within the Division as well as several private grants including a Will Rogers Institute Pulmonary fellowship grant and a Parker B. Francis Foundation fellowship grant.
