Education at UT Southwestern Medical School is a continuum, from high school and college students in the summer programs, through undergraduate medical education (UME = medical school) and graduate medical education (GME = residency and fellowship) to continuing education. The Office of Medical Education (OME) is a professional resource to the medical school. It provides educational services to faculty and students. These services include faculty development workshops and student academic assistance. View the full range of programs in detail by clicking on the link.
The faculty of Southwestern Medical School has developed a set of Educational Objectives for the undergraduate medical school program (click for PDF file, opens in new browser window). These objectives will be used to review and, if necessary, modify the curriculum to provide students appropriate opportunities to attain them. It is anticipated that they will undergo continuous revision.
