Target Audience:  
Clinical and Basic Scientists, Internists, Endocrinologists, Cardiologists, Bariatric Surgeons, General Family Practice, Residents, Interns, Fellows

Purpose & Content:             

  • Background and need for activity
  • Format and teaching methods

Educational:        

  • To provide state of the art information on emerging risk factors for cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • To provide information on new tools for assessment of obesity and related co-morbidities

Objectives:    

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Identify emerging risks for cardiovascular disease in overweight and obese subjects
  • Identify basic and clinical science tools emerging for risk assessment
