| Medical School Sophomore Pathology Supporting Images (Campus Access Only) Gross Tissue Schedule - 2011/2012: Hematopathology - NO GROSS TISSUES Genetics - NO GROSS TISSUES Neoplasia Cardiovascular Respiratory System Kidney Skeletal System NOTE: Students in Lab E will be assigned to attend gross tissues throughout the year with a specific lab group. For your lab assignment, please see below. Also, please ensure that you attend YOUR gross session. Absences will be counted. Thank You! Lab E (Please follow this schedule for all gross tissue sessions): Small Group Supporting Images The Pathology Course for second-year medical students is taught by Pathology faculty, fellows, and residents from September through May. Teaching methods include small group case history discussions, interactive computer exercises, lectures, autopsy attendance, and gross tissue demonstrations. The major textbook used is "Robbins Basic Pathology." All course material and examinations are integrated with the other second year courses in the integrated second year curriculum. The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School with its affiliated institutions offers fully accredited programs in anatomic (AP) and clinical pathology (CP), AP/CP-4, AP-3, CP-3, AP/NP-4 as well as fellowships in the various subspecialties listed below. Individualized curricula for residents with other subspecialty or research interests can also be arranged. The program accepts eight AP and AP/CP residents and up to two CP-3 residents each year. The Department offers subspecialty fellowship training in the following disciplines: Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, Breast Pathology, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Cytogenetics, Cytopathology, Forensic Pathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, Hematopathology, Immunopathology, Clinical Microbiology, Neuropathology, Pediatric Pathology and Surgical Pathology. | |||||||
