Requirements

For participation in this online program, for either academic credit or CE credit the student must possess:

1.  A Baccalaureate degree

2.  Academic credits as outlined in SAHSS Post Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Blood Bank Technology:

3.  A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0
    * Official College transcripts and 3 letters of recommendation 

4.  Minimum one year of acceptable clinical laboratory experience (in a
     blood center or transfusion service) including:

     * ABO/D typing
     * Antigen phenotyping
     * Antibody detection
     * Crossmatch
     * Antibody identification
     * Elution studies

Additional requirements for the Online program

5.  General familiarity with the use of a computer, a word processing program,
     and the Internet.

6.  Access to a printer and a fax machine.

7.  The ability to complete a two-week onsite rotation in an AABB Accredited
     Reference Laboratory.

8.  Access to the required technology as outlined in The UT TeleCampus 
     Computer Requirements.
