The Multidisciplinary Breast Conference is a weekly conference that meets Tuesday mornings, from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. in the Seay Building in Room NC3.222.  It provides an opportunity for multiple disciplines to present and discuss approaches to care for patients who are being evaluated for breast cancer.  Representatives from Medical Oncology, Surgery, Radiology, Pathology, Radiation Oncology, Plastic Surgery and Imaging come together to hear case presentations and offer insights based on their particular expertise.  Although primarily consisting of case presentations, there are occasional presentations from particular disciplines about related topics of interest for discussion.  Attended by Faculty, as well as nurses, residents, medical students, the St. Paul Community physicians, staff and guests, high quality interaction is the goal of all of the presentations.  Presenters make use of computer-assisted video, as well as other visual aids to communicate with the audience.  The conference has a moderator who introduces each case and guides the presenters and audience through the subsequent discussions.  As each presentation concludes, the various disciplines each have an opportunity to explain their recommendations for diagnosis and treatment, allowing participants to make an informed analysis of the information provided.
