The Colon and Rectal Surgery Conference is a weekly conference that meets on Thursday afternoons at 4:00 pm in the Pathology Conference Room at Parkland. This conference room is specifically designed to provide in-depth discussion of patients with conditions of the colon, rectum, and anus by specific review of their clinical situation and then correlated with a review of their imaging studies and their histopathology. The conference is held in the Pathology Conference Room because of the availability of the teaching microscope with overhead projection viewer allowing easy access to all of the pathology slides for each patient. Regular attendees for these conference include the Colon and Rectal Surgery faculty, Colon and Rectal Surgery private faculty from St. Paul, Colon and Rectal Surgery fellow, Surgery C resident team and medical students. From time to time we have guests presentations and anyone with a difficult or complex patient is welcome to present at this conference.
