The one-year breast fellowship program at UT Southwestern
Medical Center and affiliated hospitals includes a three to four
month rotation in the fellow’s area of specialty, as well as one
month rotations in other areas including: Breast Imaging,
Genetics, Medical Oncology, Pathology, Plastic Surgery,
Radiation Oncology, Surgery, Research, and Psycho-Oncology.
The primary site for training is the UT Southwestern Center for Breast Care. The outpatient facilities for UT Southwestern
Center for Breast Care are located on the third floor of the
Seay Biomedical Building. The Seay building includes the
presence of a dedicated breast MRI system and offers a
convenient setting for diagnostic evaluation, medical
treatment, genetic counseling and cancer risk assessment,
psychosocial support, high-risk patient monitoring,
and many other important services for cancer patients.
Long recognized for excellence in cancer care, the
UT Southwestern University Hospitals are home to the Wendy
and Emery Reves Diagnostic and Treatment Center for Breast
Cancer. The University Hospitals have a total of 451 staffed
beds with specialties in Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology,
and Gynecology, among many others.
Parkland Memorial Hospital is the major adult teaching facility
for UT Southwestern. Frequently ranked among the best 25
hospitals in the nation, Parkland is licensed for 997 beds.
Parkland is a tax-supported institution operated by the Dallas
County Hospital District.
