General Surgery Residency (C283519)

The Department of Surgery receives all applications via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).  Applicants should access ERAS either from their school of graduation or from ECFMG.

The ERAS Applications Information Sheet is available at http://www.aamc.org/eras/ais/start.htm.  The deadline for receipt of your completed application to The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School is December 1st each year.  The Resident Selection Committee will review completed files in November.  Successful applicants are invited for an interview after review.  Interviews are held between November and January.

As it is a requirement of our Surgery residency program to be ACLS certified, successful applicants will be required to obtain ACLS certification prior to orientation for the residency program.
