DALLAS — April 16, 2007 — Researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center are seeking patients to participate in medical studies for acne, toenail fungus and sexual dysfunction in females. All clinical trials are approved by UT Southwestern’s Institutional Review Board, which reviews them for benefits, risks, side effects and informed consent.

Female sexual dysfunction

Women with lack of sexual desire or lack of fantasies are being recruited by researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center for a 24-week clinical trial of an investigational medication. Participants must be older than 18 but premenopausal, in a stable, heterosexual relationship, not suffering from major depression, and be willing to keep a daily electronic diary. Acne

A clinical research study into an investigational medicine that combines two current popular treatments retinoid and benzoyl peroxide for acne relief is being conducted by scientists at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Qualified participants need to be 12 years of age or older and in good general health. Those selected will received study-related visits and study medication at no cost. Toenail fungus

UT Southwestern Medical Center researchers are conducting a year-long study for onychomycosis, a condition that turns toenails thick and yellow. Volunteers between the ages of 12 and 75, with toenail fungus on at least one of their big toes, are needed to participate. For more information, please call 214-645-8971.
