UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas offers extensive clinical services through a network of
well-respected affiliated institutions. Most patients are treated at five prestigious North Texas hospitals:
Parkland Memorial Hospital, a 990-bed facility operated by the Dallas County Hospital District. Parkland, the medical center's primary teaching facility, offers a variety of clinical services, ranging from outpatient clinics to an extremely active emergency service, which provide an abundance of clinical situations for teaching purposes.
Children’s Medical Center Dallas, a 406-bed facility that is the primary pediatric teaching hospital for UT Southwestern’s faculty physicians. Children’s – with nearly 50 specialty clinics and programs - is Dallas’ only medical facility dealing exclusively with diseases and disorders among children.
Dallas VA Medical Center , a 510-bed hospital that is part of the VA North Texas Health Care System. UT Southwestern undergraduates and residents are trained at the South Dallas general hospital, which has a full range of medical and surgical services.
Richardson Regional Medical Center, a 201-bed acute care facility. The center is establishing a new comprehensive cancer center in conjunction with UT Southwestern. Due for completion 2005, it will offer a full spectrum of oncology services for prostate, breast, lung, gastrointestinal, and head and neck cancers to patients in North Dallas, Richardson, Garland, Plano, and surrounding areas. |
