6th Annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium Schedule of Events

Friday, November 7th, 2008

12:00 - Art panels will be in place in the Atrium of the Medical Education & Conference Center (NG3).  Posters should be displayed no later than 5:00 p.m.  For your convenience a list will be posted with your poster number and name tags will be placed on the art panels.  Posters should be no larger than 3 x 6, if possible.  Please provide your own T-pins, only a limited number will be available.  Judging of posters may occur at any time between Friday 5:00 pm and Tuesday noon.

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

1:30 – 3:30  Poster Session - Hosted by the Postdoctoral Association at UT Southwestern

All participants should check in at the Postdoc Association table to receive their name tag.  Please plan to be at your poster during this time to discuss your research with fellows, faculty, students and staff who will view the displays. 

4:00 – 5:00  University Lecture Series sponsored by the Postdoctoral Association at UT Southwestern

5:15 – 7:00  Poster Session Awards Ceremony and Reception

This event will be held on the Fourteenth Floor of the T. Boone Pickens Biomedical Building (ND14) immediately following the University Lecture.  Sigma Xi will present winners of the abstract contest.  Prizes totaling $3600 will be awarded for the poster competition.  The Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral research will also be announced during the Ceremony.  The winner of this award will receive a monetary prize of $2000 and will present the University Lecture on November 19th. Other awards to be announced include the Excellence in Postdoctoral Mentoring and the Distinguish Service Awards.  Join your fellow participants, other postdoctoral scholars, faculty, students and staff for this event.  Food and limited wine and beer will be served.  Please wear your name tag to this event.

 

Posters should remain on display until after the reception and awards ceremony.  If you do not attend the awards ceremony, please keep in mind that your poster must be removed no later than 7 a.m. on Thursday, November 13thWe cannot be responsible for posters not retrieved.
