Since its inception in 1989, the  UT Southwestern University Hospital – Zale Lipshy has earned a reputation as an unsurpassed innovative facility, where faculty physicians of UT Southwestern Medical Center see referred adult patients with difficult cases and where patients have access to the latest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in a setting of genuine caring and concern.  In the years since it has opened, the University hospital has become an internationally known center of medical excellence and leadership. To achieve its full potential, philanthropic funds are required to supplement constrained amounts received from health plans and government insurance.

The Friends of UT Southwestern University Hospital -Zale Lipshy -- made up of grateful patients, corporations, foundations and other supporters – make the difference in enabling the hospital to stay at the cutting edge of medical science and service. Over the last few years, Friends' gifts have supported a new neuroangiography suite, the Picture Archiving and Computer System (PACS) to record and store medical imaging, funding for an Intensive Care Unit expansion, and robotic surgical instrumentation.

Located in the Southwestern Medical District, UT  Southwestern Medical Center is easily accessible to the citizens of North Texas and those flying in to Love Field or Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.  The support of the Friends ensures that patients have access to the best medical care available in a multitude of clinical specialties and subspecialties – from preventing or treating strokes through delicate surgery on brain blood vessels to curing cancer using bone marrow transplantation and the latest chemotherapy agents.

At the same time that modern technologies and physician expertise are brought to bear in fighting disease, an equal priority is the provision of exceptional service to our patients and their families.  Our commitment is to provide the same standard of service for each of our patients that we would want for our own family members.
