Members of the President's Research Council come from all walks of life, but they share an interest in learning about and advancing medical research. They enjoy an opportunity to hear directly from those who are shaping the future of medicine and experience the satisfaction of supporting promising young medical scientists whose work today will produce the medicine of tomorrow.
Members of the President's Research Council:
- Hear four stimulating programs each year by prominent faculty researchers
- Support the work of an exceptional young medical scientist. All PRC membership donations go to the annual Distinguished Young Researcher Award, an award given to a young faculty member early in his or her research career, when federal grants can be difficult to obtain.
- Meet outstanding medical scientists whose work is revolutionizing the scope and practice of medicine
- Enjoy the company of others who share an interest in science and in UT Southwestern. An annual dinner is held for the presentation of the Distinguished Young Researcher Award
- Participate in the progress of UT Southwestern -- one of the leading medical institutions in the nation and a significant economic asset to the community
Memberships in the President's Research Council are $750 for individuals or couples and $1000 for businesses. A corporate membership allows a business to send different people (up to two) to attend each meeting or event. Memberships are for 12 months.
