Testis cancer is the most common solid tumor malignancy of young men. Select patients with early stage cancer may be spared long incisions for lymph node dissection by laparoscopic surgery.
Using the minimally invasive techniques, patients are able to leave the hospital in one to two days, with an overall recovery period of two to three weeks. In contrast, those receiving standard lymph node dissection spend three to four days in the hospital, with recovery lasting six to eight weeks.
