Clinical Expertise

The faculty is highly experienced in performance of anatomical radical prostatectomy which offers lowest blood loss, more rapid return of continence, and nerve sparing maintenance of potency in the maximum number of patients. There is an established radiation therapy program which includes external beam and interstitial brachytherapy. The Department is an early leader in the development of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy as an alternative to other traditional means of treatment. There is a long experience with multidisciplinary use of hormonal therapy (androgen blockade) and systemic chemotherapy for advanced disease. The faculty are frequently invited speakers and authors on these topics.
