There will be two thoracic surgery residency positions available to start July 1, 2009.  We participate in the National Resident Matching Program; consequently we observe all the official regulations and deadlines related to submission of your application.  In addition, all applications must be submitted through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) at www.aamc.org/students/erasfellow/start.htm

Please include the following with your application:

  • Photograph
  • Personal Statement
  • Current Curriculum Vitae
  • Minimum Three Reference Letters
  • Medical school transcripts
  • USMLE scores for Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3
  • Copy of results of last in-training exam (may be sent directly to program)

Interviews will be held in the spring of 2008.   Applicants will be contacted directly to schedule interviews.  Only applicants who will be eligible for certification by The American Board of Surgery at the anticipated start of residency will be considered.  Please address any questions to:
