Candidates for this training program must have an M.D. or Ph.D. degree from an accredited medical or graduate school and must be a citizen or permanent rresident of the United States. A two-year research commitment is required and M.D. fellows are expected to have completed at least three years of postdoctoral training prior to beginning research training. For those trainees entering during their residency, a guaranteed position for completion of their residency is required from their home institution. While historically this program has attracted M.D. applicants, we welcome individuals with a Ph.D. who are interested in pathophysiologic responses to burn trauma and injury. Trainees’ salaries are determined based on the number of years of previous post-doctoral training.
