This program provides a specialty clinic focusing on bipolar disorders. Clinical services include consultation and psychiatric evaluation with specialists in the treatment of bipolar illness. The program also consists of various research studies investigating the effectiveness of pharmacological and other treatments for bipolar disorder.

The research program includes evaluation of psychopharmacological treatments, use of complementary medicine and improved understanding of the course of illness, and best treatment approaches for persons with bipolar disorders. Individual research protocols comprise of outpatient components only. Another particular area of research interest is the use of complementary or alternative treatments for bipolar disorder.
