About Us

Welcome to the Protein Chemistry Technology Center at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center. The core facility was established to provide efficient, high quality services to researchers in the academic community.

Previously a Howard Hughes facility, the new operation is directed by Dr. Stephen Sprang and is currently run by a team of three, with backgrounds in both academia and industry. The PCTC team will expand to meet the needs of researchers and as new technology and services become available.

The services presently offered include peptide synthesis, protein sequencing and protein/small molecule identification using mass spectrometry. Our facility, its state-of-the-art instrumentation and computer software is constantly upgraded to ensure the highest possible level of support. It is our aim to provide quality performance and offer experienced support, both through our products and people.
