The UT Southwestern Department of Psychiatry General Residency strives to make optimal use of its large, diverse faculty and multitude of affiliated institutions. Our goal is to graduate psychiatrists who are trained at the cutting edge of all aspects of psychiatry, from the basis neurosciences to the broadest range of psychotherapies. Our graduates are prepared to enter any career path they select. We welcome your interest, your application through ERAS and your reactions to the information that follows.

PGY-I -   $46,878
PGY-II -  $48,427 
PGY-III - $50,398 
PGY-IV -  $52,411 

Benefits

Annual paid leave (15 working days/year)
Sick leave (10 days/year)
Administrative leave for special opportunities (by arrangement with the Training Director) 
Book Allowance - $400
Pagers are provided 
Health insurance is provided at a shared cost and available from faculty physicians 
Life insurance (double the annual salary) is provided. 
Parking facilities are available. 
Medical malpractice is provided by the psychiatry department. 
Pre-arranged parental leave is available. 
Lab coats are provided
