Program Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree completed
    • We recommend a prosthetics-orthotics related major, such as
      • Biomechanics
      • Physics
      • Mechanical Engineering
      • Biomechanical Engineering
      • Kinesiology
  • Grade of "C" or higher in the following required courses:

  • Course:  hrs
    Biology with lab (for science majors) 8
    Human Anatomy and Physiology with lab 8
    Physics with lab (for science majors) 8
    Chemistry with lab (for science majors) 4
    College Algebra or higher 3
    Statistics 3
    Psychology-Human Growth and Development or Abnormal 3
    Total Credit Hours 37
    Recommended: Business Management, Ethics  
     

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) with no minimum score requirement

  • Minimum of a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution prior to matriculation

  • A recommended minimum of a 3.0 science and a 3.0 overall grade point average

  • Visit, shadow, volunteer, or paid work in a prosthetic-orthotic practice

  • Three letters of recommendation (instructor, employer, undergraduate advisor, volunteer experience or leadership position supervisor, other academic/research mentor)

  • Applications for admissions completed by January 31 preceding first day of class in late May
