The Infrastructure Services Division of Information Resources under the leadership of Darnell Walker, Jr. Assistant Vice President, supports all converged technologies including voice, video, and data infrastructures at the medical school and hospitals.
The converged technologies include:
- All voice and data related services
- Xpressions and Phonemail
- Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) system
- Telephone installation and repair
- Wiring media installation
- 24 by 7 operator assistance and answering services
- Network design, analysis, management and security
- Firewall implementation and support
- Internet connectivity (including Internet2)
- Overall support for connectivity to the Campus Wide Area Network
- Video facility that produces educational video programs
- Coordination of multimedia programs
- Interactive videoconferencing services for administrative, professional, and distance education applications
- Access to the UT System Office of Telecommunications Services (OTS)
