All applicants whose native language is not English must show sufficient command of the English language to permit them to study effectively in Southwestern Allied Health Sciences School. Such applicants are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum score of 600 is required for the paper exam, a minimum score of 250 is required for the computer-based exam, or a minimum score of 100 on the iBT exam. Evidence of the TOEFL score must be submitted with the application. Test scores must be sent directly from the TOEFL Information Center to the Admissions Office at UT Southwestern. Photocopies will be used for review only and are not accepted as official. The TOEFL is administered several times each year at many locations throughout the world, as well as in the United States. Educational Testing Service (ETS) maintains scores for two years. Students with TOEFL scores older than two years may need to retake the examination. UT Southwestern's code number is 6686.
