What can I do with a degree in Gerontology?  With the projected demographic changes for the new millennium, a degree in Gerontology is very attractive to prospective employers. Gerontology graduates have found satisfying and well-paying positions in all sectors of the economy that deal with the aging population. Some of the settings where students find jobs include hospitals, churches, senior living facilities, mental health facilities, retailers, state and federal government agencies, colleges and universities, and other social and public agencies.

How much do graduates of the Gerontology Program make? The salary varies according to the field of concentration. Recent graduates have started entry-level positions with salaries from the mid-$20,000s and upward.

When are your classes? All classes, with one or two exceptions, are offered Monday through Thursday evenings between 5:00 and 8:00 PM.

Can I complete the program on a part-time basis? Yes, you can.

Do you train Geriatric Nurses in your program? No, this program does not concentrate on the nursing component of the aging field. The department offers courses leading to the Bachelor of Science in Gerontology degree.
