Our department invites third- and fourth-year medical students to join us for a four-week away rotation. Any student who has completed his or her general surgery rotation is qualified to apply for an away rotation, but preference is given to students who have an interest in pursuing a career in otolaryngology.

Students who participate in an away rotation will get two weeks at Parkland Memorial Hospital, one week at Children's Medical Center Dallas, and one week at Zale Lipshy University Hospital. By working at these three different hospitals, you will reap the benefits of working with three very different populations. Children's is one of our country's largest pediatric hospitals. Parkland is the region's only level one trauma center, and provides public health care services to the extended local population. Zale Lipshy is a private hospital that services patients referred by outside physicians. At all three hospitals, you will see both pre- and postoperative patients in outpatient clinics, where you will learn about the day-to-day management of otolaryngology patient care.

For more information call the office of Dr. Peter Roland, department chairman, at +1 214 648 3102.
