Research:

Research is considered an essential part of the orthopaedic training program.  The main goals are for the residents to learn how to critically review "experimental" results and to be able to successfully conduct clinical and translational research. To successfully complete an orthopaedic residency at UT Southwestern, a resident must have completed a publishable project.  Many of the faculty are involved in either clinical or translational research and are available as project supervisors.  A final manuscript of the publishable study must be provided to the Chairman of the Department before completion of residency can be confirmed.
