Dr. Zide is the Vice-Chairman of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at JPS Health Network. Dr. Zide has served as Captain of the US Air Force in the Philippines from 1971 to 1973, receiving an honorable discharge. He graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1971 and then went on to graduate from the Southwestern Medical School's residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1978.

Dr. Zide was an Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University in 1978. He directed the residency program form 1978 until 1984. While in Louisiana, he also maintained a private practice.

He has a private practice in Ft. Worth and is a Volunteer Faculty Member at UT Southwestern Medical School and is on the teaching faculty at JPS Hospital.

Dr. Zide is a member of several professional organizations including: American Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the American Trauma Society.

Dr. Zide has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally. He has written over 75 papers and articles as well as a book. He has also contributed chapters to other surgical texts. His primary interests involve skin cancer and soft tissue reconstruction.

Dr. Zide is very active in the Ft. Worth community and is married with two sons.
