
Dr. Stella is the Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at JPS Health Network, is Co-Director of Facial & Oral Surgery Institute and the Fort Worth Cleft Palate Program in Ft. Worth, Texas. He graduated from the Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery as valedictorian.
He then went on to graduate from the Southwestern Medical School's residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery in 1985. Dr. Stella is a Volunteer Faculty Member at the UT Southwestern Medical School.
After joining the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at JPS Health Network, Dr. Stella has worked extensively with cleft lip and palate children. This work has taken him abroad to South America and Mexico to help develop training programs and work to help the local indigent populations.
Dr. Stella is a Diplomate of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a member of several other organizations including: American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Stella is a skilled lecturer and teacher, internationally renown for his expertise in orthognathic reconstructive surgery. He has written numerous articles, co-written a four-volume text on orthodontic/surgical correction of dentofacial deformities, as well as contributed chapters to several other surgical texts.
