Some ophthalmology patients need a test performed in the photography suite. Located within the Aston Ambulatory Care Center is one of the country’s top ophthalmic photography departments.
Our ophthalmic photographers perform tests that take color photographs of the fundus (back of the eye), the cornea, the iris. Such photographs help doctors diagnose an illness or condition.
Names of ophthalmic photography tests include: fluorescein angiography on a scanning laser ophthalmoscopic (one of only three in Texas); slit lamp photography; corneal topography; ocular coherence tomogography (OCT); Heidelberg retinal tomography (HRT); and confocal corneal microscopy.
