Department of Ophthalmology
We are seeking motivated individuals who are interested in working full time in a fast-paced, exciting university environment with ophthalmologists in nine subspecialties and cutting edge technology.  As one of the leading ophthalmology departments in the country, we believe in a team approach to help referring physicians care for patients.  Join us!

Ophthalmic Medical Technologist
Must have strong ophthalmic and supervisory skills to manage ophthalmic technicians/assistants, train staff, audit and implement the Electronic Medical Record and oversee daily operations.

LASIK/Keratorefractive Technicians
Will assist with the pre and post operative examination and testing as well as use/set up of lasers and assisting during surgery.

Ophthalmic Assistants and Technicians
JCAHPO certification preferred but not required

The Department Of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas continues to be a leader of the ophthalmic community.  In addition to our expanding outpatient facilities at our Main campus, we have satellite offices in North Dallas and Fort Worth.

The Department's superb faculty of clinicians and scientists offers consultative and referral services in virtually every medical and surgical area of ophthalmic care.  The Department is dedicated to improving treatment of eye disease and preventing blindness, with a goal of expanding ophthalmic knowledge and its application by:

  • Delivering comprehensive eye care of the highest quality

  • Conducting biomedical research for the prevention of eye disease and blindness

  • Training eye care physicians (residents and post-doctoral fellows) for a lifetime of ophthalmic healing
