Retinal Angiogenesis Faculty Position

The Departments of Ophthalmology and Pharmacology at UT Southwestern Medical Center are expanding the research focus to the field of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).  The Departments are seeking an NIH-funded individual with a track record of publications in angiogenesis research and an established interest in retinal vascular research. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent and will be expected to maintain extra-mural funding that will be supplemented by a significant endowment in support of AMD research.  Ability and willingness to collaborate with other faculty members currently working on the immunopathology of AMD, ocular tumors and corneal transplantation is essential.  A joint appointment in Ophthalmology and Pharmacology is expected.  This is a tenure-track appointment, and it can be at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on the applicant's credentials.

Interested individuals should send curriculum vitae and a cover letter via mail or e-mail to: Dr. Jerry Y. Niederkorn, Department of Ophthalmology, UT Southwestern Medical Center, 5323 Harry Hines Blvd., Dallas, TX 75390-9057 or jerry.niederkorn@utsouthwestern.edu.
