The post baccalaureate certificate is designed for students who need to complete the necessary internship requirements for eligibility to take the national registration examination for dietitians.
Who is eligible for the Post-baccalaureate Certificate Track:
- Applicants who have completed an accredited degree in clinical nutrition and dietetics within the U.S.
- Applicants who have received a Verification Statement indicating that they are dietetic internship eligible
Admission Requirements for the Post-baccalaureate Certificate Track
- Complete all required courses for admission prior to enrollment
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Personal interview
- 3 letters of recommendation
- Complete application by September 15th, with $10 fee
- Be able to perform essential functions (pdf file page 21)
- Submit copies of all official transcripts
- Submit copy of official Verification Statement with original signature
The program is 3 semesters in length. Enrolled students complete both required course work and 900 hours of supervised practice. Students in the post-baccalaureate certificate track may be granted credit for some course work completed in the undergraduate degree.
Certificate Track Degree Plan
Upon graduation, students are eligible to take the national registration examination and will receive a Certificate in Clinical Dietetics along with a Verification Statement for the Coordinated Program.
The application deadline is September 15, with notification in November or early December for enrollment in January. Admission to the Certificate Program in Clinical Dietetics will be on a space available basis.
