Faculty participate in research at UT Southwestern.  Research includes investigations in human nutrition and programs for improved nutrition education.

The research efforts of the Center for Human Nutrition are directed by Dr. Scott M. Grundy. Dr. Grundy was a member of the committees that produced the United States Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005 and the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs) for Americans.

Research in nutrition education is supported by the Nutrition Academic Award (NAA). This project is funded by a grant from the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health.  Its aim is to develop new ways to promote nutrition education in America's academic medical centers.  The NAA project at UT Southwestern is directed by Jo Ann Carson, PhD, RD.
