General Patient Information

Office Hours and Location

Our patients are seen in the Clinical Heart Center located in Suite 935 of the St. Paul Professional Office Building 2, 5939 Harry Hines Blvd. Clinic appointments are scheduled weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. dependent on each surgeon’s individual schedule. Each of our surgeons typically has one day a week set aside for clinic visits. We recognize the importance of your time and will make every effort to meet your scheduled appointment. We ask for understanding when emergencies arise and occasionally cause us to delay or reschedule your appointment.

Telephone Calls

All telephone calls are handled by personnel in our academic offices (rather than the clinic). All messages are given to the appropriate personnel as soon as possible, and every attempt is made to return telephone calls during regular working hours. We will ask you to confirm your daytime and evening phone numbers to help us reach you easily.  We can also be reached by calling the receptionist at our main telephone number - 214-645-7700.

Prescription Refills (related to care in our clinic)

Please plan ahead and do not wait until you are completely out of your medications to request a refill. The most efficient way to refill your prescriptions is to have your pharmacist fax a refill request to our office at 214-645-7701. Allow at least 24 hours to complete the process. If you call for a refill, please have the name, dose, and frequency of the medicine taken.

Emergency Care and Hospital Admission

If you have a problem that you feel is urgent or life threatening, call 911 immediately. Do not waste critical minutes attempting to locate the doctor. In an emergency situation it is vital to get to an emergency facility as soon as possible. Our patients needing emergency care or urgent hospitalization are admitted to our affiliated hospitals through the emergency room at St. Paul University Hospital, 5909 Harry Hines Blvd. You may request that paramedics transport you there. If possible, please have your family call ahead to alert your physician.

Urgent Care

If you have an urgent problem or feel you need to see your physician on that same day, please call the office as early as possible. Information will be obtained and your physician contacted. If you have an urgent problem after hours, on weekends, or on holidays, telephone our office. The answering service will contact your physician or the physician-on-call and give him your telephone number.
