Research facilities on the Center for Human Nutrition include laboratories at both the UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Veterans Medical Center in Dallas. In 1985 the Center moved into a new biomedical research building on the UT Southwestern campus. The Center has 8000 square feet of laboratory space at UT Southwestern and a 2000 square foot laboratory at the VA Medical Center. Both facilities are equipped with modern and sophisticated research equipment.

Investigations into human nutritional problems are carried out in a 6-bed metabolic unit at the VA Medical Center and in the 13-bed Clinical and Translational Research Center at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Outpatient facilities were greatly improved by completion of an Ambulatory Care Teaching Center on the UT Southwestern campus.
