Our one-year program offers a year of transition in which ones surgical pathology skills and confidence can be improved prior to entering practice. Our Assistant Instructors will be primarily responsible for daily sign out of surgical pathology cases with our residents at Parkland Health & Hospital System (22,000 surgicals). A staff of experienced attending surgical pathologists is available for back up and support, as ones confidence and skills improve. Those who do not meet the requirements for an Assistant Instructor (licensable in Texas, not in the US on a training visa), may be accepted as Fellows. Fellows' reports will be co-signed with an attending pathologist. The year will also include two to four months of grossing responsibilities at our tertiary care center, Zale Lipshy University Hospital (3,500 surgicals), and the opportunity to perform and interpret fine needle aspiration biopsies at our weekly clinic as time allows.

Applicants must have completed an approved straight anatomic or AP/CP residency program, and obtain a license to practice medicine in Texas.
