This fellowship is a flexible training program that includes experience in immunology research as well as diagnostic clinical laboratory techniques related to autoimmunity, allergy, acquired and congenital immunodeficiency, infectious diseases, transplantation immunology and hematolymphoid malignancies. One or two additional years of training in clinical or basic immunology research may be available for applicants interested in pursuing academic careers
Requirements:
Both M.D. and Ph.D. candidates are eligible. M.D. candidates must have satisfactorily completed pathology residency training from an approved program in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology or combined AP/CP and be eligible for a Texas institutional permit. Alternatively, the training program may be used to satisfy "flexible year" requirements as part of residency training. Ph.D. candidates with a background in cellular or molecular immunology and an interest in translational research will also be considered.
Stipends:
Support will be commensurate with the applicant's level of training.
