Attorneys

The International Office has a list of Board Certified immigration attorneys which is available upon request.  We cannot recommend an attorney, but suggest that you call several to determine who best meets your needs.  Check with colleagues in your department and others in the international community who may have retained immigration attorneys in the past.

USCIS(formerly BCIS & INS) District Office

Please contact the International Office prior to visiting the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) District Office located at 8101 North Stemmons Freeway in Dallas.  We can help you determine whether the service you need is provided by that office, or offer you other options.  Also, please contact us if your visit to the BCIS District Office is not successful.  The scope of services provided by the District Office often changes, so visitors are sometimes turned away in error.  As your liaison with INS, we may be able to spare you some potentially frustrating situations.

Notary Public

This service is only available to UTSW International Students and Scholars currently in valid visa status for immigration related documentation .
