H-1B Temporary Workers

H-1B status is a non-immigrant visa status for temporary workers engaged in "specialty occupations".  The H-1B is not transferable as it is sponsored by a specific employer and is valid only at that employer's location, however, if you already hold valid H-1B status we may be able to get an H-1B for UT Southwestern in less time than if you hold another visa status.

As with all non-immigrant visas, persons in H-1B status are required to schedule a check-in interview with the International Affairs Office on or before the first day of employment.
