On each of the services, rounds are made six or seven days a week by the attending physician. Almost all full-time faculty members attend on the wards. The attending physicians include many of the leading figures in academic medicine in the United States.

Many opportunities for postdoctoral research training and subspecialty fellowships are available at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in the Department of Internal Medicine, The University of Texas Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Amongst the outstanding resources for aspiring biomedical researchers is the Physician Scientist Training Program, under the auspices of which our internationally renowned faculty provide highly individualized scientific mentorship.

OBSERVERSHIP & EXTERNSHIP
Due to the larger number of students and residents at our institution, we are unable to provide observerships or externships.
