Welcome to Dermatology Clinical Trials

 

The Department of Dermatology Clinical Trials Unit is currently looking for subjects with Porphyria Cutanea Tarda to participate in a 6 month study involving an investigational oral medication.

Eligible subjects include:

  1. Adults 18 years of age or older with a diagnosis of PCT confirmed by clinical examination and 24-hour urine porphyrin levels.
  2. Subjects who have had PCT for a least 3 months prior to enrollment with active blistering (minimum of 3 blisters or erosions per month).
  3. Subjects who have had no previous treatment for PCT or who are  unresponsive or intolerant to phlebotomy.
  4. Willing to come for approximately 14 visits within a 6 month period.
