The Clinical Center for Melanoma is staffed by a team of physicians representing a variety of surgical and medical specialties, who offer comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with melanoma. The team consists of dermatologists, dermatopathologists, surgical oncologists, head and neck surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists.
The Pigmented Skin Lesion Clinic is an important component of the Center. This clinic is designed for patients with melanoma and their family members who are at risk for developing melanoma. In addition to diagnosis of melanoma patients, those who need monitoring of skin lesions are seen in the Pigmented Lesion Clinic.
Patients with a new diagnosis of melanoma can be referred to the Center by their referring physician. Referring physicians and patients should call (214) 645-8950 and a brief telephone interview will allow our staff to direct the patient to the appropriate member or members of the Center team. After meeting with the team, a recommendation is made to the patient and her/her referring physician. Therapy and long-term follow-up care are coordinated with the referring physician. This is the only service of its kind in the region.
Patients or family members of patients interested in being seen by the Pigmented Lesion Clinic for diagnosis or monitoring of skin lesions should contact (214) 645-8950.
