| There is a long tradition of service and research in hypnosis at UT Southwestern, beginning with the pioneering work of Harold Crasilneck, Ph.D. in the 1950s. Today, investigators are conducting ongoing psychophysiological research that utilizes hypnosis to understand the role of volition in blood pressure and in other physiological variables. Further, additional research that will utilize fMRI to better understand the mechanisms of hypnosis is being planned. | | |
