Research & Clinical Fellowships in Gastroenterology and Hepatology

Program Directors: John M. Dietschy, M.D. and Don Rockey, M.D.

This program is explicitly designed to train physicians for an academic career. It provides training in both clinical gastroenterology and hepatology and in basic or clinical research related to these subspecialty areas over a variable time period (usually 4 years). This program is supported by an NIH Training Grant and is limited to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Trainees will be eligible to take the examination for subspecialty board certification after completion of training. It is expected that fellows completing training in this track will obtain academic faculty appointments.
