Use of Human Clinical Areas


Rationale:

Animal experimentation or imaging in human clinical areas must be conducted with consideration for the health of human patients.

Policy:
 
           • Animal experimentation in human clinical areas may not be conducted without prior approval by the appropriate hospital official.  
           • An approval letter signed by the appropriate hospital official must be presented to the IACUC before protocol approval will be granted.

Applicability:

This policy applies to all animals transported to human clinical areas for imaging or experimentation.
