Zale Lipshy University Hospital (ZLUH or Zale) has 12 operating rooms as well as a cystoscopy suite and two angiography suites.  Surgical services include plastic and reconstructive surgery, orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, gynecology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, general and oncologic surgery, breast services, vascular surgery, and neurological surgery.

Dr. Thomas A. Lacour is the Division Chief of Anesthesiology as well as Director of the Division of Multi-Specialty Anesthesia.  Over 9,000 anesthetics are provided in this division per year.  Surgeries involving head and neck cancers as well as bariatric cases provide an outstanding experience in managing the complicated airway.

The Director of the Division of Neuroanesthesiology is Dr. William J. Krippner.  Approximately 1,400 anesthetics are performed each year for neurosurgical cases, including over 300 neurovascular cases.

Dr. Leland Lou, Chief of the Division of Pain Management and Director of the Eugene McDermott Center for Pain Management, is the interim Director of Acute Pain Services (APS).  The APS plays an active role at Zale Lipshy University Hospital in the management of surgical pain.  Goals of the APS are to 1) improve pain management of hospitalized patients, 2) educate residents in the techniques of acute pain management, and 3) direct clinical research in pain management.
